I had a questionable looking banana that needed to be eaten ASAP so I looked in my refrigerator to see if I had any ingredients to make a smoothie. Just my luck, I happened to find some strawberries tucked all the way in the back. I was thinking to myself, I could easily make a simple strawberry banana smoothie but I wanted to add more flavor and substance to it. I found some cinnamon, plant protein powder and chia seeds in my pantry. I decided to experiment and the outcome was absolutely stunning. I added chia seeds to the smoothie because they are very nutritious and loaded with antioxidants. This smoothie is so smooth, light and refreshing. It makes enough for two small servings! This is my own personal creation so I hope you enjoy!
2 cups ice cold water
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 serving of your favorite protein powder
1 cup sliced strawberries
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pour the ice water into your favorite blender and add the chia seeds.
Let the chia seeds sit in the water for at least 5 minutes and then blend the chia seeds with the water.
Add the protein powder, banana, strawberries and cinnamon to the blender.
Blend well and serve.
