Homemade Popcorn

Making your own popcorn is easier than you might think and it’s a lot healthier than movie theater popcorn. Pick out your favorite movie and sit down with the family with your own homemade popcorn!

1/3 cup popping corn (You can buy this at most grocery stores)

Salt, to taste

Ground Cinnamon (Optional)

2 lunch size paper bags

Place 1/3 cup popping corn into one of the paper bags.

Sprinkle a dash of salt and cinnamon on the kernels. Open the second paper bag and place the bag on top of the bag with the kernels, enclosing them together.

Tip the bag onto its side and shake it, spreading the kernels evenly in the bag. Place the bag on its side into the microwave.

Cook on high for 2 minutes, allowing the kernels to pop.

Once the two minutes are up, pull the popcorn out of the microwave and shake the bag vigorously. Pull one bag off the other bag, revealing the popcorn. Top with salt, cinnamon and other other spices you want. Shake bag to mix and enjoy!

1/3 cup popping corn makes about 4 cups of popcorn. Feel free to experiment and try new spices. Let me know what you think!
