Ginger Pear Boost
I recently fell in love with ginger! A few years ago, I would have stuck my nose in the air if someone offered me ginger. I really didn’t know what I was missing. Now, I drink ginger tea almost everyday. I dabbled into “ginger therapy” when I was having major digestive problems and acid reflux. It was excruciating at times and of course, I Googled natural ways to relieve stomach problems and heartburn. After seeing my doctor and still not getting any relief, I started drinking ginger tea. This actually helped me so much and I am so happy I found some relief. Ginger is known to relieve many digestive problems and I highly recommend it.
For Christmas this year, my parents gifted me with a Ninja blender so I can make more smoothies. Inside the box, there was a small recipe book where I found the recipe, “Ginger Pear Defense.” Of course, I had to try it and break in my new blender! I absolutely loved this recipe. The juice tasted so light and refreshing, perfect for sipping outside on a warm day. This recipe is super easy and only requires a few ingredients; ginger, pear, lemon, water and honey. I modified the original recipe to make it taste the way I like, so have fun with it and experiment with ingredients that you think would taste good. Try it and let me know what you think!
1/2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled, cut into small pieces (I used 1 inch because I LOVE ginger)
1 pear, cut into small sections (I actually used 2 pears for a stronger taste)
2 teaspoons, lemon juice
2 1/2 cups, cold water
Honey, to taste (I used about 1 tablespoon)
Place all the ingredients in your favorite blender and blend until smooth. I recommend adding some ice if you want a colder juice.
Pour in a glass and enjoy!
