This week in the DIY Beauty series, we are making our own facial cleanser! This is a very simple recipe meant to wash away any dirt and oils accumulated during the day. This face wash is not for a specific skin type but can be used by anyone. If you have a specific skin ailment that you are trying to correct, this recipe is very flexible and allows you to add whatever ingredients that you want. Check out the video below!
I hope you enjoyed the video! We had some special guests “meow” during the recording because they wanted to be involved in the project too. It was a fun time! I originally found this recipe from the blogger, Tracey Black, from “Don’t Mess With Mama.” I followed most of her ingredients but replaced the nut oil with what I had in my pantry. Check out her recipe here!
Before I talk about the ingredients in my video, I wanted to let you know that I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for Bold & Free to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
3/4 cup brewed chamomile tea at room temperature. I used the Tazo brand but you can use whatever you have. If you have organic chamomile tea, I’d recommend using that.
1/2 teaspoon nut oil. I used Black Walnut Oil but you can use whatever you have on hand.
Mix the brewed tea, essential oils, nut oil and Castile soap in a small bowl. Once mixed, pour into your containers. Shake well before use. This face wash will last up to 2 weeks as there are no preservatives in it. Pair with your favorite facial moisturizer! We will be making our own next week! 🙂
If you are looking for a store-bought moisturizer then I recommend the “Yes To” brand. We are making our own next week but I wanted to tell you all about the Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh moisturizer since I have used it over the last month and have seen some beautiful results. Check it out!
